Okay, Aufgabe 5. What type of acids and bases do you know and how do they differ? And give
examples. There are two categories or concepts. On the one hand, we have the concept of
brownies. Brownies are molecules that can give protons. They are therefore
called proton donators. Famous examples are salt-based, heavy-based,
salpeteer-based and brownies and bases are the opposite. They are substances that
can absorb protons. In other words, they are proton acceptors. Examples are sodium,
potassium and calcium hydroxide. There is also the Lewis theory. This is not called proton
transfer, but electron transfer. This is the main difference between both concepts.
Here, Lewis-based electrons are paraceptors or electrophilia. And Lewis-based electrons
are electron-paradonators. Very famous examples of Lewis-based electrons are aluminum chloride,
carbon dioxide or tetrachlorosilane. And Lewis-based electrons are ammonia or
nitride.
