Physical activity has numerous health benefits, and many scientists are developing projects to promote it.

But a lot of these programs are never implemented on a large scale in real-world environments,

and therefore don't have a noticeable public health impact.

To solve this problem, it has been suggested to use approaches that rely on stakeholder participation and co-creation.

One example is cooperative planning.

It revolves around a multi-stakeholder group that conducts a series of meetings to co-create physical activity interventions.

If you want to know more about this approach, click on the link in the description below.

A project that has extensively used cooperative planning is Capital for Health,

a German research consortium dedicated to promoting capabilities for active lifestyles across the lifespan.

Results of our research are now available as a supplement to Health Promotion International.

The articles shed light on our experience with cooperative planning in different settings,

including childcare centres, schools and universities, vocational education, and older men in communities.

They also address several theoretical and methodological issues,

for example how to assess if organizations are even ready for cooperation,

and which facilitators and barriers exist in specific environments.

The supplement also contains contributions from other projects that have used this planning approach.

Thank you for watching.
