Good morning, everyone.
And yes, I am going to give you now a an online presentation about the topic visualization.
And we're also going to do some a lot of things in PowerPoint.
And I will split up the session into two parts.
So first of all, there's the theoretical parts.
And yeah, I've got an overview here.
And yeah, so today's visualization and slides.
Actually, I'm not going to talk too much about graphs in Excel
today, since there is so much that I wanted
to show you in PowerPoint.
This is completely filling one session.
So I'll do another session on Excel as well,
which has a lot of exercises also.
And today, I'm going to structure this session
into two parts.
The first part is the theory, where
I talk to you a little bit about basic principles and guidelines
in visualization, what you can look after when
creating a PowerPoint slide, what different types
of visualization is there, and certain aspects
for these types.
And then we're going to have this bigger part,
the PowerPoint functions.
And here, just a little teaser, I'm
going to show you how to create really nice looking graphs.
And yeah, how to structure things very nicely
and show you all the different functions
that PowerPoint gives you.
Because PowerPoint is an incredibly strong tool.
It gives you so many options for visualization
and graphic design.
I also use it myself for some graphical abstracts for a paper,
or even when I do my Christmas cards,
or do something small for my friends,
just something that has to do with visualization.
I don't go into GIMP or Photoshop,
because a lot of things you can actually do quite well now
in PowerPoint as well, just to give you a little teaser.
And yes, so I also just need a time for me
so that I can see what time it is.
Unfortunately, where's the timer on my other side?
OK, never mind.
Let's get into presentation styles.
What different kinds of presentation styles are there?
So basically, you can structure these presentation
styles into two different ones, especially
in the scientific world, into the conventional ones,
and into the creative ones.
For the conventional ones, these are the ones
that you most likely know, also the ones that I'm using a lot.
