So my name is Mark Staminger.
I'm going to give this lecture here,
Computer Graphics, in this term.
I would like to start with
a few organizational things.
Probably you know that we have
exercises that run in parallel with this lecture.
And we will speak about how all this is handled
and the different types of modules, for instance.
You know that this lecture here is
three hours a week, which corresponds to 3.75 ECTS,
or credit points.
And you can combine this lecture with exercises.
And we have two models for this.
The first one is basic exercises.
That's rather simple exercises with an effort
that should be about two to three hours a week, which
gives you another 1.25 ECTS.
So if you combine these two modules,
we will end up with five ECTS.
And we have additionally advanced exercises.
These are more complicated exercises
that will take you about five to six hours a week.
And this gives you another 2.5 ECTS.
So yeah, we have these two types of modules.
This one, it's difficult to read here.
This is called CGV-U, this module, yeah?
This is 5 ECTS, and the larger one is 7.5.
So for the 7.5, you need to do the basic exercises
and the advanced exercises.
I will come back to that in a minute.
To pass the exercises, you have to hand in assignments
every week.
And you need 50% of the points in these basic exercises
and 50% of the points in the advanced exercises
to pass the exercises.
The exercise is it's only pass fail.
You just have to pass them.
That doesn't mean that you should
stop with the exercises as soon as you have 50%
but several of you will do so anyhow.
But that's not the concept behind that.
And I hope you realize that the exercises help
to understand the content of the lecture.
But on the other hand, I perfectly understand
that they require work and so on.
But that's how it is handled.
The grade in the end comes from a written exam,
so we will have a written exam probably in March, April
next year.
