Mr Schöck has committed himself to the things that you can expect from our university.

He was always responsible, he was on the road day and night for the university and was always

highly committed when it came to the interests of Friedrich Alexander University.

Mr Schöck leaves the fifth university location of Friedrich Alexander University,

the water sports center here in Pleinfeld, a building that has now existed for 11 years

and would probably never have been here without his dedication.

I would even call Mr Schöck a very sporty chancellor or old chancellor,

who has always been very committed to the sports interests of the University of

VfU in general, but also here in terms of water sports.

He has been very committed.

Without him and his dedication, this building would probably never have been created here.

And without his dedication, the building would no longer look the way it does now.

And it would not be as equipped as it is now.

And with that it would not run as well and be accepted as it is now.

I recently had to make a research proposal just to give you an example.

And it had to go very quickly.

And they then wrote to me after their first contact with the administration,

saying that they were enthusiastic about the friendliness and speed of this administration.

I think that can be seen as a big track for Chancellor Schöck.

We have an administration that is friendly, that is flexible, that reacts immediately.

It wants to support the scientists, it also wants to support the young people.

I am enthusiastic about this administration.

And I think that is what it leaves behind, a very large, science-friendly group of people

who are part of this university and not the brake, and not the watchmen and the controllers.

They are there too, but that is not their main job.

And so Chancellor Schöck has understood his profession as Chancellor.

And so this whole university is now established after the many, many years he was there.

I met Mr. Schöck in the colleague circle when I came to Regensburg.

And that was a very collegial and almost friendly relationship right from the beginning.

He was a very experienced colleague back then.

He was then also a federal speaker.

He had, of course, the overview of the federal election.

That was very helpful.

It was also very helpful that he had his own background in the Ministry of Finance

and that he also knew the key people who manage the funds.

And then of course he could also give warnings or

and then of course he also was very kind towards you,

of course we loved each other,

that I would be so much more mature than he had introduced me to the State Council,

that I can only bear a university with humour.

And that's actually what I've always tried.
