Basics in Computational Materials Science and Process Simulation 2: Part 1 [SerienID : 2360]

The course enables the students to learn the basics of modeling and simulation with computer software. An overview of numerical methods to numerically solve engineering problems is given. Emphasis is placed on practical application of these methods to processes involving thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and materials deformation.

  • Solution of nonlinear equations

  • Numerical differentiation and integration

  • Numerical solution of differential equations

  • Numerical solution of transport problems: the Finite-Difference Method
