Today's session, I'm sorry first of all that we're so late, and it's going to be in English.

The next one on a failure exchange in detail is going to be in German.

The RASMUS session is also going to be in German.

And then the last one will be in English again, if that makes sense, because we're really

kind of trying to cover everything.

They're all going to be in this room, but they will be at different times, slightly

different times.

Okay, I'm just going to jump in.

So first of all, quick question.

Why are you here?

Where do you want to go?

Why do you want to go abroad?

Any responses?

So I know like where to steer the conversation.

Yeah, thank you.

Yeah, that makes sense.

That's about like 90% of people going abroad.

Anybody else?

Yeah.

Okay, what do you study?

Okay, yeah, that makes sense.

That makes sense.

It's pretty easy.

Now, because a lot of students want to go to only English speaking countries, and then

they'll be doing, I don't know, very different studies, and then that doesn't work out.

So this is good.

And basically today's session, why is it in German?

Why is it?

Okay, so I didn't translate the title or it's lagging.

I don't know.

But anyway, why you should be going abroad?

There's basically different options.

Just a general overview, you probably heard of them at some point.

I don't think it doesn't make a difference with the microphone.

Yeah, okay, sorry.

Basically you can expand your knowledge on the academic level.

You can expand your knowledge on the intercultural level.

And for me personally, I went abroad to the US on a kind of teaching assistant position

because I studied at a different university, but I studied English language and I studied

how to teach other people German.

And basically my stay abroad was a mess.

And it was very depressing because I was in the suburbs in upstate New York.

So it was like minus 30 degrees Celsius for six months straight.

I didn't have a car and there were only two other interns there and none of us had a car.

And they were also in the suburbs, but on the opposite side.

So we just sit at home very sad and text about how sad we are.

But still, I feel like I took away a lot because I was able to travel through the US.

I gained a very different perspective now than is maybe shown on social media about the US.

So you definitely learn something.

You learn to cope with things.
