Okay
so there are many slides that will be distributed so I will not go through all the
details but just giving the important messages in the topic.
So it's related to the use of the lifting gas for helium versus hydrogen or vice versa.
What are the advantages of each of them and what you need to do if you want to go to hydrogen.
I like what Christophe mentioned at the beginning.
So one of the certainly very important point is independency.
So today we must be clear
helium if we want to speak about Europe
we don't have any production
almost and it's certainly not also a clean gas because helium is coming from the processing
of natural gas.
So if we take the two points that have been mentioned by Christophe at the first presentation,
we are far away from a solution
from independency and from cleanliness if you speak about lifting
gas.
But of course is hydrogen a solution
what can be the advantages or disadvantages
I
will try to discuss that.
And so we worked at ULB
it has been also mentioned by the presentation of Natale on
SORA.
So we have obtained a SORA for 16 meter hydrogen lifting gas drone in Belgium using EASA regulation
and the Belgian Authority regulation.
We flown it a few years ago.
That was a project called FlyWin that will be briefly discussed here that I can certainly
discuss if you have more important questions.
So of course hydrogen has been used a long time ago in airships.
I will use some pictures from the Indenberg that was clearly using hydrogen as a lifting
gas with a technology of almost 100 years ago.
There have been other systems promoting that and in my presentation I will mainly speak
about rigid airships
so using gas bags
so these gas bags that you have inside
which
is of course a clear
let's say a clear
let's say key point in the success of using hydrogen
in an airship.
And I will only speak about drones
so no pilot
no people on board.
And we will have also a presentation given by Highlight
which is also an airship and
which is in fact a drone that we will fly
I hope pretty soon
also in the airspace of
Belgium where you see some characteristics here.
And this is the FlyWin prototype that we have built in Belgium.
